This season households are eligible to receive a heating and cooling benefit.

Households can apply for the heating benefit Nov 1st – March 31st then starting April they will be eligible for a cooling benefit from April 1st until September 30th. 

The HEAT Program is now taking applications throughout the year. The HEAT Program provides utility assistance for families whose income is at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If you would like to apply for the HEAT appointment, you can apply online, mail in, or by appointment.

To schedule your appointment you must call the appropriate HEAT phone number in the county that you live in.
NO WALK IN APPOINTMENTS ACCEPTED YOU MUST CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT!

Apply by Mail

Mail-in applications are recommended for clients that do not live near a local HEAT office. All copies of verifications sent must be clear and legible. MAIL-IN applications are the better alternative, rather than waiting for a scheduled outreach in your area.

Apply Online

In order to apply online you must have; a valid email address, be an adult resident of Utah with a physical address, have utility service with one of our vendors, Your utilities must not be scheduled for shut-off, you must have income, and everyone in the household must be a U.S. citizen.
It is also recommended you be computer literate, capable of downloading and scanning documents. If you are not comfortable with the online application process then applying by appointment or mail may be the quicker and easier method.


What You Need To Apply

  1. Social Security Cards for each person in the household.

  2. Picture ID for each person 18 and older.

  3. Proof of Birth date for one child age 5 or younger.

  4. Most Recent Utility Bill for; natural gas, power, propane.

  5. Proof of Income for all household members. (Month prior)

  6. Proof of Medical Expenses. (Month prior)

  7. Proof of Disability

  8. Income deficit form for each household member over 18 yrs old not working.
